Moon Owl

This is the card I've made for the DT to launch the Anything Goes Challenge #36 over at Scribble and Scrap. There is a super prize to be won of a Wild Rose Studio stamp and the pack of Craftwork Cards Snowflake Die Cut Card Blanks.  The competition runs for 2 weeks and  closes 31st January.

I used the gorgeous Norma J Burnell Fairy Tangles Moon Owl Stamp. It was lovely to colour and there are so many different combinations you can do to change the style. The background stamp, sentiment and feather die cut were all freebies from magazines this month. The feather stamp is lovely and I stamped it on the background with pigment ink and onto the die cut feather, but then also heat embossed the die cut with silver embossing powder.  I added a real feather from my stash to give a bit of extra texture. Great fun to make.

Dragon Keeper

Doesn't time fly...just like the little dragon on my card!! As a member of the Scribble and Scrap Design Team I've created this card as a reminder that Challenge #35 is running until Saturday 17th January. The theme is anything goes so no excuse not to come and join in.

For the card I used Sweet Pea Stamps Norma_J_Burnell Fairy Tangles The Dragon Keeper. It is quite complex to colour. I used pro-markers and Sukura Gelly Roll pens to give some iridescence to the image which unfortunately doesn't show up in the photos, and I also made a big mistake...wonder if you can spot it??  I then used a Tonic die to cut the frame in the card and edged it with a peel-off and backed it with blue card. Finally I popped on some corner die cuts and pearls.

Just a quicky card..

Wow, 2015!!! Almost 12th night and the decorations will be going away. It also heralds the launch of Challenge #35 over at Scribble and Scrap as always it is anything goes

Must admit I went for a clean and simple quicky this week as I get back on track after the festivities. I used the Wee Stamps Topper - Hopeful and Lillibet 6x6 Designer Paper Pack. The toppers are so sweet and are a joy to use. Using craft card and stamping the sentiment in brown seemed to work well with the little girl's outfit.

Lillibet Flying in..

Hope you all had a super Christmas.

Santa Claus is coming to town

I made this card for a friend who loves visiting London. I used the Xcut Scene-it Dies against a printed background of the full moon. I then cut the santa and sleigh out on my Silhouette, and added detail behind the die cuts using foil in the windows of Westminster Abbey and mirror card in the Gherkin. I printed the clock face to fit Big Ben from a Serif cd and to complete the details I added silver hub caps to the cabs and black on the glitter card red bus. It was great fun to make and my friend loved it.

Getting ahead!

I expect everyone is busy with Christmas preparations but I wanted to remind you that  challenge #33 is still running on the Scribble and Scrap Blog.

I decided to get ahead of myself and make a New Year card using the 
Gorjuss - White Rabbit Stamp  with Dovecraft Curiousity Corner Papers both available from Scribble and Scrap.

 

I stamped Gorjuss onto white card then masked her off to stamp and emboss the background. I found the background stamps in my stash of magazine freebies. I think they are from the Chronology range. I then coloured her using promarkers, and I decided to give her a little mouth on this outing. The Gorjuss stamp set includes 12 stamps in total which is great value and one of the extra stamps is a blank watch which I stamped and decoupaged onto the main image so I could set the time to 12 o'clock. I then used peel off waste to create the watch chain and some die cut cogs as embellishments.

 

Matted and layered onto black card with a printed sentiment and she's ready to see in 2015!!

Adrift...on life's journey

Here we go again giving you another opportunity to win over at Challenge #33 at Scribble and Scrap as always the theme is anything goes and the challenge runs for 2 weeks closing on 20th December.

I made this card for a friend's birthday using Santoro Mirabelle Adrift Stamp and Craftwork Cards - Postcard From Paris 8x8 Papers. The embossed sentiment 'Everyday is a journey' and postcard logo were from a free gift set of stamps, and the floral embellishments were a charity shop find. I have found my embossing has improved now I use the Cosmic Shimmer fine embossing powder. I usually colour stamp the image and then use clear embossing powder rather than using coloured embossing powder as it can be messier, and it's more expensive to have lots of powders rather than inks.
